By studying the science of blue light, we can understand the facts related to the different wavelengths and intensities of blue light, so that we can make informed decisions and recommendations about how to address blue light in its different forms, and provide consumers with optimal vision, eye protection, and aid a healthy sleep cycle.

My goals in designing BL365 were: 

1.    Superior filtering of HEV

2.    Outdoor protection from high intensity blue light

3.    Attenuation of longer wavelengths of Blue “LWB”

4.    Visible Light Transmission >80% for safe night driving

 And we succeeded:

  • Filters 70% average HEV from 400-430nm

  • Photochromic to protect your eyes outdoors

  • Absorbs 30% of LWB to promote better sleep

  • Transmits 81% visible light to comply with motor vehicle codes
